For overseas visitors who are arriving at Johannesburg Airport. Take the Boksburg Highway (R21) and then turn onto the N12 towards Witbank. This road becomes the N4. Continue on passed the Middleburg turnoff and after another 60kms take the R540 (R33) to Belfast, Dullstroom and Lydenburg.
If you are coming from Mashishing (Lydenburg) over the Long Tom Pass. As you come down the hill into Sabie, you'll see our Insimbi sign. TURN LEFT. Follow the road for about 100 meters and then TURN RIGHT into Marula Street, (there is another Insimbi sign post there)
Follow the road down the hill and on the bend about 200 meters down you will then see a large double storey house on your left. (30 Marula Street) This is Insimbi. (It has a sign outside)
If you are coming from another direction (i.e. Hazyview, Graskop etc). You have to drive through Sabie and take the R532 road to Mashishing (Lydenburg).
As you leave the town you will go through a 3-way STOP street. After this follow the Lydenburg Road for about 1 kilometers, passing on your right a Caltex garage and the golf course.
Take the SECOND TURN to your RIGHT (Insimbi is signposted from here).
This crosses a small bridge.
About 50 meters further on TURN RIGHT at the T junction, follow the road up the hill until you come to a 3-way STOP street.
TURN LEFT into Marula Street and No 30 is about 400 meters further on, on the right as the road bends slightly to the left.
Sabie is an approximately 4-hour drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria.
Alternate Route (Via Schoemans Kloof Pass)
This road is in a very good condition whereas the route via Belfast and Lydenburg is full of potholes!
Continue on the N4 past Belfast towards Machadadorp. 17km's from Belfast you will find Milly's, this is a lovely spot to stop for a break, bite to eat or just for fuel. Back on the N4 past Machadadorp to the Machadadorp Toll Gate +- 8.5 Km's from Milly's. After the Toll head down the hill past the weighbridge on the left and take the turn "N4 via Schoemans Kloof Pass". The pass is very scenic and there are less heavy trucks on this route. After 60 km's of the pass you will come to a T-Junction back at the lower N4 route. Turn left and travel for 4km's. Turn left at the R539 turnoff to Sabie, this turnoff can easily be missed. Travel for 7km and turn right at R359 to Sabie. Travel 16km until you reach another T-Junction. Turn left on the R37 towards Sabie. Travel 20km's until you come to another T-Junction. Turn right on R537 down the pass towards Sabie. Travel for 6kms and turn left into Mount Anderson area. Travel 100 meters and turn right into Marula Street. We are number 30 on the left on the bend.
